The remagnetisation processes of lateral magnetic micro- and nanostructures are crucial for advancing technologies like magnetoresistive sensors and high-density non-volatile memory. Research in this area employs two main approaches: lateral resolving microscopic methods, such as Kerr microscopy and magnetic force microscopy, to image individual magnetic domains, and integrated techniques like magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) and superconducting quantum interference device magnetometry (SQUID) to record hysteresis loops for insights into remagnetisation. This thesis investigates the potential of vector and Bragg MOKE techniques alongside micromagnetic simulations to analyze remagnetisation in various Fe microsized structures, including rectangular islands, triangular rings, and spiral structures. The samples were prepared using electron beam lithography and sputtering. The longitudinal MOKE technique provides vectorial information on magnetisation, while the periodic arrangement of microsized structures acts as diffraction gratings, creating interference patterns that reveal domain configurations. Higher order diffraction spots yield insights into the magnetic form factor, sensitive to the Fourier components of magnetisation distribution.
