En savoir plus sur le livre
For over a decade, data warehousing and knowledge discovery have been essential technologies for decision-making in companies. Since 1999, the Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery (DaWaK) conference series has served as an international platform for practitioners and researchers to share findings and engage in discussions on these technologies. The 8th International Conference on Data Warehousing and Knowledge Discovery (DaWaK 2006) continued this tradition, aiming to balance the focus between data warehousing and knowledge discovery. The conference featured papers addressing various research challenges in data warehousing, including advanced OLAP visualization techniques, ETL process innovations, materialized view optimization, and the integration of data warehouses with real-life applications such as medical and spatial contexts. In the realm of data mining and knowledge discovery, topics covered included data stream analysis, ontology-based mining techniques, clustering, association, and classification. The proceedings include technical papers selected for presentation at the conference, with 198 abstracts received and 146 papers ultimately accepted from 36 countries, showcasing a diverse range of research and applications in these critical fields.
