En savoir plus sur le livre

Welcome to the proceedings of the 2004 International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC 2004), held in Aizu-Wakamatsu City, Japan, from August 25–27, 2004. Embedded and ubiquitous computing are rapidly emerging as significant paradigms that provide continuous computing and communication services everywhere. These systems are increasingly integrated into everyday life, often becoming invisible within appliances or worn as part of clothing and accessories. This trend is a natural result of advancements in embedded systems, pervasive computing, wireless networks, mobile computing, distributed computing, and agent technologies. Its impact on academia, industry, government, and daily life is poised to be more transformative than that of electric motors, elevators, or even the evolution of personal computers. The EUC 2004 conference served as a platform for engineers and scientists from various sectors to tackle the profound challenges arising from these developments, including technical, safety, social, legal, political, and economic issues. The conference received an impressive 260 paper submissions from over 20 countries and regions, spanning Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and North America. Each submission underwent a rigorous review process by at least three program or technical committee members or external reviewers.
