On 8 October 2004, the Council Regulation (EC) No. 2157/2001 on the Statute for the European Company (SE) will take effect, necessitating national implementation measures to make the SE a viable tool for entrepreneurs and investors. National legislators face the challenge of shaping a national model of the SE that attracts investors and influences their location decisions. This regulation will spark competition among national legislators regarding the law of the European Company. The book aims to provide initial insights into national regulations concerning the SE. While no national law has been finalized, many Member States have begun taking legislative steps, with initial drafts already published. These drafts are presented by national experts, while authors from countries without official drafts share their views on how national regulations should be structured. Additionally, as the SE-Regulation coincides with the EU's enlargement to include 10 new Member States, the reports also address the perspectives of countries like Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
