En savoir plus sur le livre

Challenging European cultural conventions, the work of Swiss-Bolivian artist Carmen Perrin is deeply influenced by her Latin American roots. She skillfully transforms industrial mass-produced materials, such as electric wire and building materials, into subtle and ambiguous imagery and sculptures that engage the surrounding space. This publication showcases 15 of her significant art-in-architecture interventions, including projects at the Zurich headquarters of the Swiss National Bank, the Dock Midfield Terminal at Zurich-Kloten Airport, and the Gynaecological Hospital in Lucerne, as well as additional works in France, Brazil, and the USA (New York). Born in Bolivia in 1953, Perrin emigrated to Switzerland in 1960 and currently resides in France, where she teaches at Geneva’s Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Her work interrogates cultural norms while reflecting her heritage, using industrial materials to create a multifaceted visual language that activates and transforms the spaces she inhabits. The monograph highlights her innovative approach to integrating art with architecture across various international contexts.
