En savoir plus sur le livre
Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) and Message Passing Interface (MPI) are essential tools for programming within the message passing paradigm, a highly effective approach for developing parallel applications. This volume features 42 revised contributions from the Seventh European PVM/MPI Users’ Group Meeting, held in Balatonfüred, Hungary, from September 10 to 13, 2000. Organized by the Laboratory of Parallel and Distributed Systems at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, this conference follows previous meetings in Barcelona, Liverpool, and Cracow. Initially focused on PVM, the conference has evolved into a vital forum for users and developers of PVM, MPI, and other message passing environments, fostering valuable interactions that inspire new ideas in parallel computing and their application in various fields. Key topics included the evaluation and performance of PVM and MPI, enhancements to these tools, algorithms utilizing the message passing paradigm, and their applications in science and engineering. The event featured four tutorials and five invited talks covering advances in MPI, cluster computing, network computing, grid computing, and SGI parallel computing systems.
