Es entsteht ein präziser Einblick in die Bedingungen von Journalismus und Kunst im „real existierenden Sozialismus“. Patrick Conley ist promovierter Medienhistoriker. Von 1990 bis 1995 arbeitete er als freier Journalist und Moderator für den Hessischen Rundfunk. Seit 1995 lebt er als freier Autor in Berlin. Im Funkhaus Nalepastraße hat er als Regieassistent an Hörspielproduktionen mitgewirkt. 2002 erhielt er das DRA-Stipendium zur Erforschung der Rundfunk- und Mediengeschichte der DDR.
