Farocki und Silverman führten ihre Auseinandersetzung Mitte der 1990er Jahre auf Englisch, zwischen Berlin und Berkeley, und veröffentlichten ihr Buch 1998 sowohl im Original als auch auf Deutsch, übersetzt von Roger M. Buergel.
