Exploring the interplay between narrative and performance, this work examines how contemporary German culture utilizes narrative performance to navigate complex themes such as unification, migration, and the War on Terror. The author, Claudia Breger, identifies two clusters of techniques—scenic narration and narrative theatricalization—highlighting their roles in shaping cultural identity and imaginative worldmaking. By interlacing definitions of narrative and performance, the study reveals how these elements respond to the post/modern crisis of narrative authority within various media.
