For more than 150 years, John Milton's interpreters have been struggling, with Milton and one another, to determine into which school of Trinitarian or anti-Trinitarian thought he ought to be enrolled. They have «matriculated» Milton into the schools of Servetus, Socinus, and Ochino, as well as pre-Nicene subordinationism, Unitarianism, Arianism, and orthodoxy. To date, no one view has been able to capture a lasting scholarly consensus. In order to settle this vexed question, and in order to move Milton critics out of this impasse, this text demonstrates the comprehensive affinity of the poet's anti-Trinitarian views with the Arian tenets condemned at the Council of Nicea.

The present work is focused on the detailed investigation of internal combustion engines in terms of flow and combustion analysis using an advanced numerical simulation method in the framework of computational fluid dynamics. The numerical approach used in this work is based on the Large Eddy Simulation technique implemented in STAR-CD, which has the intrinsic capability to accurately observe highly unsteady phenomena of engine flow characteristics. An extended version of the Coherent Flame Model, called 3-Zones Extended Coherent Flame Model (ECFM-3Z), which provides a universal combustion modelling approach available for all modes of technical reacting flows, is applied within the LES context. The ECFM-3Z is a model specially developed, to describe the combustion process taking place in modern internal combustion engines, in which depending on the mixture different modes of combustion exists. This study provides a comprehensive validation of the LES combined with the ECFM-3Z combustion model and reveals a detailed insight into incylinder physical phenomena. After an introduction to the fluid dynamics background in the form of a mathematical and physical description of turbulent reactive flows and their numerical implementation, the ECFM-3Z LES approach is first used for turbulent reactive and non-reactive flows of technical combustion systems of varying complexity to deal with different combustion modes. The results obtained for these flows provide a model performance assessment or predicting experimental measurements for the flow and scalar distribution. The main part of this work is focused on a detailed analysis of a single cylinder spark-ignition direct-injection DISI engine. To guarantee a proper definition of boundary conditions, the intake and exhaust ports are included in the numerical domain until the positions of pressure measurements. A multi-cycle LES was carried out on two meshes with different spatial resolution and provides an insight into the physical processes that shape the engine flow structure under motored conditions. Based on the comparison of first and second order velocity moments in experiments and LES, the accuracy of the numerical method employed was determined. Additionally the ability to reliably predict the flow field and to identify the nature of cyclic variations of IC engines was assessed. The ability to predict the combustion process within IC engines is analysed based on a comparison between LES and experiments in terms of flame presence probability and its temporal evaluation. Causes of combustion variability are presented in the form of large scale flow motion behavior in time.

Both Reformed and Mennonite churches trace their beginnings back to Zurich, where Huldrych Zwingli and his friends Konrad Grebel and Felix Manz together discovered the liberating power of the Gospel that would renew both church and society. However, they quickly developed conflicting ideas about how to carry out this renewal. Their paths separated into dispute. Zurich became the “city of Zwingli” and banished the names of Felix Manz and Konrad Grebel from its memory. Still, the Anabaptist movement survived and never forgot its founding fathers. On June 26, 2004, Felix Manz returned to Zurich: a commemorative plaque on the banks of the Limmat reminds us of his execution during the time of the Reformation. This is a reference to an inheritance which Reformed and Anabaptist Christians have in common – and is likewise an encouragement to brotherly dialogue. “The story we have told for centuries of the birth of the Anabaptist Movement, and the persecution and execution of the radical reformers in Zurich now has a new ending. This book concisely reviews our current understanding of hypoxia, molecular targeting, DNA repair, cancer stem cells, and tumor pathophysiology, while also discussing novel strategies for putting these findings into practice in daily clinical routine. Radiotherapy is an important part of modern multimodal cancer treatment, and the past several years have witnessed not only substantial improvements in radiation techniques and the use of new beam qualities, but also major strides in our understanding of molecular tumor biology and tumor radiation response. Against this backdrop, the book highlights recent efforts to identify reasonable and clinically applicable biomarkers using broad-spectrum tissue microarrays and high-throughput systems biology approaches like genomics and epigenomics. In particular, it describes in detail how such molecular information is now being exploited for diagnostic imaging and imaging throughout treatment using the example of positron emission tomography. By discussing all these issues in the context of modern radiation oncology, the book provides a broad, up-to-date overview of the molecular aspects of radiation oncology that will hopefully foster its further optimization.

Mennoniten und Amische hingegen erzählen die Märtyrergeschichten ihrer Vorfahren von Generation zu Generation weiter. 'Wir haben mit ihnen rein gar nichts gemein!', hatte es Zwinglis Nachfolger Heinrich Bullinger formuliert. Gilt das immer noch? Ist der Riss, der von Anfang an durch die Reformationsbewegung ging, verheilt oder einfach vergessen? Wie kann das gemeinsame Erbe im ökumenischen Dialog fruchtbar gemacht werden?. Der vorliegende Band versammelt die Dokumente zum Tag der Begegnung und Versöhnung von Reformierten und Täufern am 26. Juni 2004 in Zürich anlässlich der Feiern zum 500. Geburtstag von Bullinger: Ein Schuldbekenntnis von reformierter Seite und ein Gedenkstein für die in der Zwinglistadt hingerichteten Täufer setzten ein viel beachtetes Zeichen für Versöhnung und Dialog.

Bommi Baumann war Mitglied des 2. Juni. Er lebt jetzt noch im Untergrund. Dieses Buch ist seine Lebensgeschichte: Weshalb er als proletarischer Jugendlicher zur Stadtguerilla kam und welche Vorstellungen die Gruppe zur damaligen Zeit hatte, werden von seiner subjektiven Sicht aus erzählt. Entscheidende Stadien in seinem Leben sind: Kommune I und ihre Aktionen – Teufel, Langhans und die Gerichte – der 2.
