This monograph documents Magdalena Jetelova's recent installations, which include filling historic buildings with sand and volcanic ash, and superimposing laser text upon natural structures.

Capturing the imposing large-scale installation “Landscape of Transformation,” this examination portrays the Czech artist Magdalena Jetelová and how she has brought the explosive topic of human rights into the museum. With the help of numerous illustrations, this catalogue documents how Jetelová, in a project specially designed for the Kunsthalle Mannheim, has created a colossal “experience space” that confronts visitors with the relationship between law, injustice, and morality. The study details how the artist works on various levels—alongside optical mises-en-scène with mirrors and black light and even addressing her topic through the media of writing and speech. Depicting a creative force who first attracted attention with out-of-kilter monumental chairs, this exploration showcases her unique spatial and perceptual transformations, initiated through electronic media and categorical interventions in the architectural environment. Kniha jedenácti příběhů s názvem Pompejánský pes je o umění a umělcích, ale možná spíše o tom, co s nimi jejich umění dělá, proč se jim nedaří, proč jsou nejistí, nebo naopak šťastní, a jak hledají a nacházejí. Ty příběhy se odehrávají v různých zemích a různých dobách, některé i v bezprostřední současnosti, jiné dosahují až k budoucnosti. Jsou to příběhy o útrpné svobodě, jakou by si nepřál nikdo, a to netušíme, co vše musí jejich protagonisté snést, aby se skutečně jako umělci cítili. Jsou to romantické příběhy? Asi ne v tom původním slova smyslu, spíše jsou nevšední. Miluje se v nich a umírá, podvádí se, vzniká víra a závislost, dochází k nezměrným potěšením, ale i bolestným ztrátám, vlastně jsou všechny ty příběhy jakýmsi benátským zrcadlem obyčejného života. Součástí a zároveň uměleckým protějškem knihy jsou kouřové obrazy Magdaleny Jetelové, která také navrhla její celkové výtvarné řešení.
