This volume contains the Proceedings of the conference „Complex and Differential Geometry 2009“, held at Leibniz Universität Hannover, September 14 - 18, 2009. It was the aim of this conference to bring specialists from differential geometry and (complex) algebraic geometry together and to discuss new developments in and the interaction between these fields. Correspondingly, the articles in this book cover a wide area of topics, ranging from topics in (classical) algebraic geometry through complex geometry, including (holomorphic) symplectic and poisson geometry, to differential geometry (with an emphasis on curvature flows) and topology.

The book provides an introduction to the theory of functions of several complex variables and their singularities, with special emphasis on topological aspects. The topics include Riemann surfaces, holomorphic functions of several variables, classification and deformation of singularities, fundamentals of differential topology, and the topology of singularities. The aim of the book is to guide the reader from the fundamentals to more advanced topics of recent research. All the necessary prerequisites are specified and carefully explained. The general theory is illustrated by various examples and applications.

In the 2nd edition numerous corrections have been made. More basic material has been included to make the text even more self-contained. A new section on the automorphism group of the Leech lattice has been added. Some hints to new results have been incorporated. With several new exercises.

Dieses Buch gibt eine Einführung in die Theorie der Riemannschen Flächen, die Funktionentheorie mehrerer Veränderlicher, die Differentialtopologie und die Singularitätentheorie. Es werden grundlegende Begriffe und Methoden der jeweiligen Gebiete dargestellt. Die Auswahl erfolgt im Hinblick auf Anwendungen auf die Untersuchung von isolierten Singularitäten analytischer Funktionen, die in vielfältigen Zusammenhängen von Bedeutung ist. Besonderer Wert wird auf die Illustration allgemeiner Theorie an Beispielen und Anwendungen gelegt. Es wird ein Bogen von den Grundzügen zu neueren Forschungsergebnissen gespannt. Der Umfang entspricht dem Stoff von etwa drei 4-stündigen Vorlesungen. Das Buch ist geeignet für Studierende, die die einführenden Vorlesungen über Algebra und Funktionentheorie gehört haben. Es kann in Teilen für eine weiterführende Vorlesung über Funktionentheorie, eine einführende Vorlesung über Differentialtopologie und für eine Einführung in die Singularitätentheorie benutzt werden.
