" Retour d'Afrique " est la suite du best-seller mondial " La Massaï blanche ". Il a été écrit, comme l'explique Corinne Hofmann elle-même, sur les insistances des lecteurs du premier livre qui souhaitaient savoir ce que cette ex-épouse d'un guerrier Samburu était devenue après son retour à la " civilisation ". Corinne et sa fille Napiraï, alors âgée de 15 mois, arrivent en Europe. C'est le 6 octobre 1990, une " froide " journée d'automne. Corinne pèse moins de 50 kilos pour 1.80 mètre. Elle est malade, désemparée et n'ose pas dire à sa mère qu'elle est rentrée pour ne plus repartir. Après sa vie chez les Massaïs, le retour en Suisse n'est pas exempt de difficultés. Grâce à la volonté, au courage et à l'optimisme qui l'ont aidée à survivre au Kenya, Corinne et Napiraï doivent apprendre ou réapprendre à vivre au rythme frénétique d'un Occident stressé et peu tolérant face à qui a osé être différent.
