Das Buch beleuchtet Migrations- und Integrationserfahrungen der ersten und zweiten Generation und zeigt, dass ‘Türkisch-Sein’ zwar Bezug nimmt auf Religion, Tradition, Familie oder Türkeibindung, doch von jedem einzelnen anders ausgelegt wird. Wie man ‘türkisch leben’ kann in Deutschland, ist nicht festgeschrieben, sondern kann sich mit der eigenen Lebenssituation und der Einstellung zur türkischen Herkunftsgesellschaft ändern.
