Christopher M. Bache učinil 24. listopadu 1979 první krok na cestě, která měla změnit jeho život. Vybaven vzděláním v oblasti filozofie náboženství, vyrazil na průzkum vlastní mysli i mysli vesmíru s maximálně možným nasazením a systematičností, a to za pomoci psychedelické látky LSD. Během dvaceti let podstoupil 73 sezení s vysokými dávkami LSD dle protokolu zavedeného Stanislavem Grofem, jež jej přivedla k hlubšímu propojení s kosmickým vědomím.
