The world is facing many great challenges: from pandemics to climate change, and from increasing inequality to the issues surrounding digitalization. In a new and rapidly changing global landscape, Europe must look for solutions to these difficulties to follow up on its impressive decades-long process of integration. Europe has the capacity to chart a progressive course in the world. Our European Future offers solutions to rethink our socioeconomic model in the glare of the environmental and digital transformations; to redefine Europe's role in the world to contribute to renewed multilateralism; to strengthen investment in public goods; and finally, to re-invent our democratic contract. The book brings together the insights of renowned experts from across Europe, and it should prove a handy guide for any progressive thinker, policymaker or activist, and for any citizen who would like to take part in the necessary democratic debate about our future. This book, edited by Maria João Rodrigues with the collaboration of François Balate, is a first contribution from the Foundation for European Progressives Studies to the Conference on the Future of Europe and beyond.

Progressive Proposals for the Turbulent Times
How to Boost the Political, Organizational and Electoral Potential
Progressive proposals for the turbulent times: How to boost the political, organizational and electoral potential‘ is the 13th volume of the Next Left book series. Its content was developed within the Focus Group, established in 2009 by FEPS and Karl-Renner-Institut. The group now carries on the work under the leadership of MEP Andreas Schieder and continues to be a unique forum for profound deliberations on the future of social democracy. In the years 2020 – 2022, respective members conducted research that allowed us to correlate difficult lessons from the pandemic and translate them into proposals to empower Progressives to build back better internally. There are ways in which the movement can consolidate its narrative, regain its confidence, revive in-house processes, and reconnect with citizens – all to become a viable alternative in times of anxiety and discontent. Altogether, the book can serve as an inspiration, a manual and a reading that may reassure Progressives. Indeed, it is now, more than ever, a time for the Progressive agenda of respect, solidarity and progress.Contributors:Andreas Schieder, László Andor, Maria Maltschnig, Ania Skrzypek, Andrius Bielskis, Maria Skóra, Gerassimos Moschonas, Cornel Ban, Felix Butzlaff, David J.
