    Ramesh S. Balsekar, disciple de Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, s'est inspiré de la tradition Advaita Vedanta. Ses enseignements partent du principe d'une Source ultime, Brahman, d'où émane la création. Une fois la création apparue, le monde et la vie fonctionnent mécaniquement selon des lois divines et naturelles. Balsekar enseignait que le libre arbitre est une illusion, car tout ce qui se produit est causé par cette unique Source – la pure Conscience, incapable de choisir ou d'agir.
