Big Bugs is an English course for children aged 8 to 12 with little or no prior knowledge of the language. It follows the introductory Little Bugs series and consists of 8 units featuring Spike the Spider and friends. The course includes progress tests, extra materials for seasonal events, and cross-curricular activities in the later volumes.
The Big Bugs 2 Activity Book follows on from the activities in the Pupil's Book. A double page of picture and word stickers are used to create a dictionary web to record the main vocabulary learnt. Also, included are four cut-out mini books which accompany the bubble stickers for extra practice on key words.
The Audio CDs contain all the listening material required for the Big Bugs 2 course such as all the stories, songs, chants and other listening activities. The CDs also include recordings of Unit Tests and Progress Tests which form part of the course.
The Big Bugs 1 Story Cards illustrate key vocabulary and help to tell the stories in the Pupil's Book and Activity Book. The pack includes 72 full-colour A4 story cards which have enlarged illustrations of the story to provide a visual reference for the pupil's.
The Big Bugs Pupil's Book 1 contains 64 full-colour pages which consist of 8 story-based units, a review unit and material for two festivals. There is also three double-page revision games intended to familiarise the children with English after the holiday periods. Each unit includes a story and four pages of activities.
