Contradictions is a novel written by Gary, Indiana native, Nicole Bradley who also writes under the pen name Jahzara. The novel is centered around character, Aris Smith who matures through out the novel. As the reader takes this journey with Aris, it becomes quite evident that Aris is becoming very much like the mother she despises. It seems that everything she dislikes about this woman whom she has never really bonded with, is becoming Aris's reality. There are segments in the book that will make the reader laugh. There are segments that will make the reader want to cry. The reader will bond with some of the characters and share their moments of joy and sadness. Contradictions is a wonderful escape from the stressors of daily life.

Being a middle child is not easy and Mack is on a mission to find her own voice. With her mother's reinforcement, she believes that she can be anything. She is reminded of her uniqueness every day; it's in the way she moves to the sound of her favorite tunes, her creativity, and her bold and eccentric personality.
