Stephen Arnold Douglas

    Stephen Arnold Douglas était un homme politique américain de l'Illinois et le concepteur du Kansas-Nebraska Act. Il a été représentant et sénateur des États-Unis. En 1860, il fut le candidat du Parti Démocrate à la présidence, perdant finalement l'élection face à Abraham Lincoln.
