Smith graduated medical school from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She completed a five-year residency in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at UT Health San Antonio in San Antonio, TX. She then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC. She is currently a practicing pediatric otolaryngologist at Dell Children's Medical Group in Austin, Texas. She enjoys all aspects of pediatric otolaryngology, with particular interests in pediatric voice disorders, aerodigestive disorders, airway management, and pediatric sinus disease.

He completed his five-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went on to complete a clinical and research fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, England. This tertiary care center is world renowned for advances in the field of pediatric otolaryngology. Dr. Pine is currently a tenured Associate Professor of pediatric otolaryngology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Pine reads extensively and continues to attend both national and international meetings in his field.
