Examining the evolution of Lingala, this study highlights how community interactions and historical contexts shape language. It emphasizes the significant role of time in influencing linguistic changes, reflecting broader shifts in community behaviors and habits. By analyzing two distinct states of Lingala through a diachronic lens, the research focuses on semantic changes over time, using a sample of 20 items to illustrate the transformation of meanings and concepts associated with the language.
