Focusing on first-year university students, this research explores the critical link between mental health and quality of life, highlighting how these factors impact academic performance and retention. Utilizing a descriptive/correlational study design with a sample of 110 students, standardized tests (MINI 5.0 for mental health and WHOQOL-BREF for quality of life) were employed to gather data. Conducted in a public university aimed at serving vulnerable populations, the study underscores the importance of mental well-being during the transition to higher education.
