The research focuses on the perceptions of students and administrators regarding staff performance appraisal in polytechnics. It investigates the challenges encountered during the appraisal process, its impact on administrative duties, and factors that could enhance its implementation. The study involved 340 respondents and utilized questionnaires and interviews for data collection. Findings indicate that while awareness of appraisal practices exists among both groups, several challenges hinder effective implementation. The study also proposes solutions to these challenges.
