This is a study in the chronology of large scale Parthian sculptures. Using a variety of iconographical details, historical identifications, technical details, inscriptions the author proposes a sequence and a chronology for sculptures from the central Parthian area. A second volume porvides a catalogue of some 225 pieces or groups with descriptions and comments on their traditional dating.
