This book is the continuing story that began with the Mystery of the Iatt Lake Monster - Revealed!, subtitled Squatchland: The Dartigo Creek Valley Project, were I discovered a tribe of Bigfoots living across the street where I was renting a Cajun-style shotgun house with a rusty tin roof across from a well at the foot of a clean, clear swamp created by three crooked creeks. After a violent initial encounter, David made friends with Mo Cho Rook, the king of the Crooked Snake tribe. Then after moving to the other side of the parish, members of the tribe followed him and made camp across the road from his new habitation where he made friends with Nebehkakun, the local clan leader, who told David much about the tribe and the various local clans. Over one hundred Bigfoots moved to live in his yard, hence the title Squatchland II: Under the Sign of the Crooked Snake.

The narrative continues with David's adventures as he befriends the Crooked Snake tribe of Bigfoots, following a tumultuous initial encounter. After relocating, he discovers that members of the tribe have chosen to camp nearby. Through his friendship with Nebehkakun, the clan leader, David learns about the tribe's history and the surrounding clans. The story blends humor and intrigue as over a hundred Bigfoots take up residence in his yard, enriching his life with their presence and the mysteries of the swampy landscape.

Set in the rural heart of Louisiana, the author retreats to heal after personal tragedies and a flood. In his solitude, he unexpectedly encounters a tribe of Bigfoots, leading to a tumultuous first meeting. However, through perseverance, he earns their respect and forms a unique friendship. The narrative explores themes of healing, connection with nature, and the unexpected bonds that can form in isolation.
