    • Londinium was founded by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago, shortly before AD 50. Roman London was built on a greenfield site which is now occupied by the City of London and north Southwark. The early frontier town was an immediate success and was occupied for almost four centuries.

    • Originally published in 1915 to raise funds to support transport workers and their families during WW1. Charles Pears was a well know artist producing numerous posters for London Underground. Pears was also an Official War Artist during both WW1 and WW2.
