Imagine you're on a deadline for a big project, and feeling overwhelmed. Or you're looking for a job, but can't seem to get your foot in the door. Or you're dying for tickets to a sold out concert, and all your leads have gone cold. What do these problems have in common? They can all be solved simply by reaching out to a colleague, friend, or wider network and making an ask. Studies show that asking for help makes us better and less frustrated at our jobs. It helps us find new opportunities and new talent. It unlocks new ideas and solutions, and enhances team performance. And it helps us get the things we need outside the workplace as well. And yet, we rarely give ourselves permission to ask. Luckily, the research shows that asking - and getting - what we need is much easier than we tend to think. Here, Baker shares a set of strategies - used at companies like Google, GM, and IDEO - that individuals, teams, and leaders can use to make asking for help a personal and organizational habit, such as: SMART criteria for making an ask, plug-and-play routines that make requests a standard component of meetings, mini-games that incentivize asking within teams, the Reciprocity Ring, a guided activity that allows people to tap into the giving power of a network, and more. Picking up where other books have left off, All You Have to Do Is Ask shows us how to ignite the cycle of giving and receiving by asking for the things we need.
Comtort is a fictional story and word. The word Comtort is communication lawsuit or tort. The basic theme is the proper way for a church to discipline its membership. It begins twenty-five years previous to the primary action set in 2012, which is 1987. For the sake of brevity I removed the PRELUDE. I may, if sales warrant, publish it under The Contract and the Youth Pastor. This introduces Henry Zimmerman and explains why women informed of the contract become his Slave after accepting his love. Flash to the present. The church is being embezzled from. False accusations are made against an active church member. He is disciplined in a vague manner, with the cause being clouded and based on lies. The embezzlers use him as a scapegoat and are accused of suggesting he commit suicide, the basis of the torte. This story is a challenge to the church that discipline is to be done openly and in the light. If done in darkness and vague communication, it only serves Satan. If done in the light, you correct error, train for correction, encourage reconciliation and repentance, and may even deal with visits by Mis Communication, sending her packing. It has the benefit of discouraging false accusation and dealing with false accusations as they occur.
