HOMEF has actively opposed the structures and policies that undermine people's rights to a healthy environment while empowering marginalized communities to reclaim their self-managed food and agricultural systems. This struggle has sparked a renewed awareness among communities about the injustices they face and the importance of harnessing their collective power to drive change. "Politics of Turbulent Waters" is a collection of selected articles from the 36 issues of the Eco-instigator, published between 2013 and 2022. This publication serves as a platform for sharing insights and reports that promote environmental justice and food sovereignty, drawing contributions from HOMEF and other advocates across Africa and the globe. The title, derived from one of Nnimmo Bassey’s articles, encapsulates the book's core messages, highlighting Africa's environmental crises and the power imbalances that contribute to these challenges.
