Sofka and the Crusader is a fantasy story embroiled with Ukrainian's rich folklore and tradition and follows nine-year-old Sofka on an exciting and mysterious adventure.

Set in a remote town nestled in the Caucasus Mountains during the mid-20th century, the story follows nine-year-old Pasha and his friends as they embark on summer adventures, raiding neighboring orchards for the best apples. Their escapades lead them to the mysterious Glumins, an Old-Believer couple, and the cruel Bullin, a neighbor notorious for his mistreatment of animals. Themes of childhood mischief, moral dilemmas, and the innocence of youth intertwine as Pasha navigates the challenges of his summer days.
