Kurzfassung In der Praxis ist es klinisch und röntgenologisch nicht immer klar ersichtlich, ob es sich um eine odontogene, oder nicht-odontogene Erkrankung, oder gar ein Artefakt handelt. In den Kieferknochen können eine Vielzahl von Anomalien wie Zysten und Tumore, aber auch Anomalien die dem Knochen selbst entstammen auftreten. In diesem handlichen Booklet werden die gängigsten Anomalien des Kieferknochens beschrieben. Zu jeder Erkrankung werden entsprechende Röntgenbilder, die Ätiologie, diagnostische Kriterien sowie die entsprechende Therapie diskutiert. Der Fokus soll dabei auf den Unterschieden in der röntgenologischen Darstellung der verschiedenen Anomalien liegen. Wie bei Krankheiten im Allgemeinen gilt auch für Anomalien im Kieferknochen, dass die Anamnese und die Befunde einer eingehenden Untersuchung die Grundlage für die Diagnostik bilden.
