Tribologisch hoch beanspruchte Gleitsysteme wie Hochdruckpumpen für die Benzindirekteinspritzung besitzen ein Belastungskollektiv, das Werkstoffe mit niedrigen Reibungszahlen und geringem Verschleiß bei gleichzeitig hoher mechanischer Festigkeit erfordert. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden Sialon-Keramiken für derartige Anwendungen entwickelt und charakterisiert. Diese zeigten hervorragende mechanische und tribologische Eigenschaften und somit ein hohes Potential für diesen Einsatzbereich.
