Gerhard Kaiser, Brigitte Kowanz, Oswald Oberhuber, Manfred Wakolbinger, and jewelry artists Anna Heindl and Lena Grabher currently exhibit at kunsthaus muerz under the title 'Zwischnstopp/ Stopover.' This exhibition offers insights into their artistic processes and approaches. Oswald Oberhuber, as a professor and rector, transformed the University of Applied Arts in Vienna during the 1980s, emphasizing openness and the individual development of his students. This spirit of constant change is reflected in his own artistic practice. Although the six artists present distinct positions, they embody Oberhuber's core idea: a research-driven, experimental approach that rejects strict stylistic classifications. The boundaries of artistic genres are blurred, leading to works that conceptually intertwine various media. The artists engage with themes of media, perception, and visibility, exploring the dichotomies of image and representation, as well as micro and macrocosm. Central to their work is the exploration of space in its concrete, abstract, and virtual forms. For two months, these six strong, independent artists occupy a creative stopover at kunsthaus muerz. Exhibition: kunsthaus muerz, Mürzzuschlag, Austria (16.03. - 05.05.2019)
