On September 23, 2008, the tranquility of a small town in southern Germany was shattered when police raided the home of Idenuwa Atewe, a Nigerian citizen, arresting him on marijuana-related charges. His wife Bärbel and their children were left in shock as Idenuwa was taken away without any incriminating evidence found. Born into a large, polygamous family and carrying the title of prince, Idenuwa faced challenges in completing his education and finding work. After being swindled while serving as a police officer, he took a leap of faith and moved to Germany, where he fell in love with Bärbel and built a successful international business. However, his arrest led to the collapse of his company and a struggle to prove his innocence amidst indifference from the legal system. As he was moved from prison to prison, he witnessed the devastating impact of incarceration on fellow inmates. This narrative serves as a powerful plea against the unjust treatment of the accused and offers insight for families supporting incarcerated loved ones. Fueled by his faith and the love of his wife, Idenuwa endured immense hardship, and through his story, he aims to inspire hope and advocate for justice.
