This book constitutes the proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Group Decision and Negotiation, GDN 2015, held in Warsaw, Poland, in June 2015. The GDN meetings aim to bring together researchers and practitioners from a wide spectrum of fields, including economics, management, computer science, engineering, and decision science. From a total of 119 submissions, 32 papers were accepted for publication in this volume. The papers are organized into topical sections on group problem structuring and negotiation, negotiation and group processes, preference analysis and decision support, formal models, voting and collective decision making, conflict resolution in energy and environmental management, negotiation support systems and studies, online collaboration and competition, and market mechanisms and their users.

This book concentrates on mining networks, a subfield within data science. Mining complex networks to understand the principles governing the organization and the behaviour of such networks is crucial for a broad range of fields of study.

This book is the conference proceedings of ESSA 2013, the 9th Conference of the European Social Simulation Association. ESSA conferences constitute annual events, which serve as an international platform for the exchange of ideas and discussion of cutting-edge research in the field of social simulations, both from the theoretical as well as applied perspective. This book consists of 33 articles, which are divided into four themes: Methods for the development of simulation models, Applications of agent-based modeling, Adaptive behavior, social interactions and global environmental change and using qualitative data to inform behavioral rules. We are convinced that this book will serve interested readers as a useful compendium which presents in a nutshell the most recent advances at the frontiers of social simulation research.
