Täglich kommen Wut, Frustration und Verzweiflung bei den afrikanischen Eltern und Lehrern zum Ausdruck, die sich von den Entscheidungsgremien ausgeschlossen fühlen. Der Autor vertritt, kurz gesagt, die Auffassung, dass sich eine demokratische, multikulturelle Bildung nur mittels integrativer Lehrpläne realisieren lässt. Solange jedoch afrikanische Gemeinden und Lehrer von Bildungsangelegenheiten ausgeschlossen werden, wird für die Mehrheit der Bürger eine multikulturelle Bildung in Südafrika nur ein Traum oder eine Wunschvorstellung bleiben.
