This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems, PAAMS 2015, held in Salamanca, Spain, in June 2015. The 10 revised full papers and 9 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 48 submissions are presented together with 17 demonstrations. The articles report on the application and validation of agent-based models, methods and technologies in a number of key application areas, including: agents and the energy grid, agents and the traffic grid, affective computing and agent development, ambient and contextual agents, social simulation and social networks and other agent-based applications.

The 20 regular and 19 demo papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 57 submissions. They deal with the application and validation of agent-based models, methods, and technologies in a number of key applications areas, such as: energy and security; engineering and tools; evaluation and ethics; negotiation and organisations; personalization and learning; simulation applications; simulation platforms; social networks and humans. The book also contains two invited talks in full paper length.

The 9 revised full papers, 10 short papers, and 16 Demo papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 58 submissions (39 full paper and 19 Demo paper submissions. The papers report on the application and validation of agent-based models, methods, and technologies in a number of key application areas, including day life and real world, energy and networks, human and trust, markets and bids, models and tools, negotiation and conversation, scalability and resources.

Research on Agents and Multi-Agent Systems has significantly advanced over the last decade, leading to numerous effective applications. PAAMS serves as an international platform for presenting and discussing the latest scientific developments and their applications, facilitating technology transfer and assessing the impact of these approaches. Initially a local initiative, it has evolved into a key yearly event for disseminating important outcomes related to real-world applications. PAAMS creates a unique opportunity for multidisciplinary experts, academics, and practitioners to exchange experiences in the development and deployment of these systems. It aims to unite researchers and developers from both industry and academia to report on recent advances, discuss major issues, and showcase the latest agent-based technologies. PAAMS, the International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems is an international yearly forum to present, to discuss, and to disseminate the latest developments and the most important outcomes related to real-world applications. It provides a unique opportunity to bring multi-disciplinary experts, academics and practitioners together to exchange their ex-perience in the development of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. This volume presents the papers that have been accepted for the 2010 edition in the Special Sessions and Workshops. PAAMS'10 Special Sessions and Workshops are a very useful tool in order to complement the regular program with new or emerging topics of particular interest to the participating community. Special Sessions and Workshops that emphasize on multi-disciplinary and transversal aspects, as well as cutting-edge topics were especially encouraged and welcomed.

PAAMS, the International Conference on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems is an evolution of the International Workshop on Practical Applications of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. PAAMS is an international yearly tribune to present, to discuss, and to disseminate the latest developments and the most important outcomes related to real-world applications. It provides a unique opportunity to bring multi-disciplinary experts, academics and practitioners together to exchange their experience in the development of Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. This volume presents the papers that have been accepted for the 2009 edition. These articles capture the most innovative results and this year’s trends: Assisted Cognition, E-Commerce, Grid Computing, Human Modelling, Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Agent-Based Simulation, Software Development, Transports, Trust and Security. Each paper has been reviewed by three different reviewers, from an international committee composed of 64 members from 20 different countries. From the 92 submissions received, 35 were selected for full presentation at the conference, and 26 were accepted as posters.
