O patro výš se nachází Chani, která se prostřednictvím terapeutického dopisu svěřuje se svým osamělým životem a nečekaným příchodem odcizeného bratra. Ve třetím patře se Dvora, soudkyně na penzi, vyrovnává se smrtí manžela a objevuje novou životní cestu, když se setká s mužem, který ji nutí čelit tajemství z minulosti. Román zkoumá, co se stane, když „spořádaný“ člověk čelí mimořádné události. Jsou rozhodnutí postav nezvratná, nebo existuje cesta zpět? A chtějí se hrdinové na tuto cestu vůbec vydat? Témata jsou univerzální a rezonují s čtenáři napříč kontinenty.

Grafický román Mike’s Place je originálním ztvárněním a výpovědí o skutečné tragické události z 30. dubna 2003, která změnila životy mnoha lidem. Autoři a zároveň hlavní postavy příběhu použili formu grafického románu - komiksu. Autoři využili faktu, že popisovaná událost byla prvotně zachycena autentickou kamerou, která dala vznik úspěšnému dokumentu Blues by the Beach a zároveň informací z následného vyšetřování celé události, které pomohlo objasnit příčinu nesmyslného teroristického aktu. Jeden z autorů je nezávislým newyorským filmařem a producentem, druhý je filmovým dokumentaristou a kameramanem. Ve spojení s uznávaným ilustrátorem a karikaturistou tím vzniklo dílo na pomezí filmu a komiksu s hlubokým příběhem.
