A practical programming model for the multi-core era
    OpenMP in the petascale era
    OpenMP in a heterogeneous world
Using OpenMP. Portable Shared Memory Parallel Programming
    • This title presents a comprehensive overview of OpenMP, the standard application programming interface for shared memory parallel computing - a reference for students and professionals. OpenMP, a portable programming interface for shared memory parallel computers, was adopted as an informal standard in 1997 by computer scientists who wanted a unified model on which to base programs for shared memory systems. OpenMP is now used by many software developers; it offers significant advantages over both hand-threading and MPI. "Using OpenMP" offers a comprehensive introduction to parallel programming concepts and a detailed overview of OpenMP. "Using OpenMP" discusses hardware developments, describes where OpenMP is applicable, and compares OpenMP to other programming interfaces for shared and distributed memory parallel architectures. It introduces the individual features of OpenMP, provides many source code examples that demonstrate the use and functionality of the language constructs, and offers tips on writing an efficient OpenMP program. It describes how to use OpenMP in full-scale applications to achieve high performance on large-scale architectures, discussing several case studies in detail, and offers in-depth troubleshooting advice

    • This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Workshop on OpenMP, held in in Rome, Italy, in June 2012. The 18 technical full papers presented together with 7 posters were carefully reviewed and selected from 30 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on proposed extensions to OpenMP, runtime environments, optimization and accelerators, task parallelism, validations and benchmarks

      OpenMP in a heterogeneous world
    • This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Workshop on OpenMP, IWOMP 2011, held in Chicago, IL, USA in June 2011. The 13 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the proceedings. The papers are organized in topical sections on using OpenMP with application, tools for OpenMP, extensions of OpenMP, and implementation and performance.

      OpenMP in the petascale era
    • The Third International Workshop on OpenMP, IWOMP 2007, took place in Beijing, China, continuing its tradition as a premier venue for learning about OpenMP and engaging with its users and developers. The workshop provided a platform for sharing practical experiences and research related to OpenMP. A total of 28 submissions were received in response to the call for papers, each evaluated by three reviewers, with additional reviews for some. Ultimately, 22 papers were accepted for the proceedings, including 14 full papers and eight short papers, which were presented at the workshop alongside poster demonstrations. Papers were assessed based on originality, innovation, readability, and relevance to the audience. Due to the workshop's limited scope and the high number of submissions, only 50% were included in the final program. The IWOMP 2007 agenda also featured keynote and banquet speakers, including Trevor Mudge, Randy Brown, and Sanjiv Shah, recognized for their significant contributions to the field. Additionally, a tutorial session and labs were part of the event, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
