    • The purpose of the 13thInternational Conference on Computer and Information Science (SNPD 2012) held on August 8-10, 2012 in Kyoto, Japan was to bring together researchers and scientists, businessmen and entrepreneurs, teachers and students to discuss the numerous fields of computer science, and to share ideas and information in a meaningful way. Our conference officers selected the best 17 papers from those papers accepted for presentation at the conference in order to publish them in this volume. The papers were chosen based on review scores submitted by members of the program committee, and underwent further rounds of rigorous review. The conference organizers selected 17 outstanding papers from SNPD 2012, all of which you will find in this volume of Springer's Studies in Computational Intelligence.

    • The series "Studies in Computational Intelligence" (SCI) publishes new developments in computational intelligence, focusing on theory, applications, and design methods across engineering, computer science, physics, and life sciences. It includes monographs, lecture notes, and edited volumes covering areas such as neural networks, genetic algorithms, artificial intelligence, and hybrid intelligent systems. A key feature is the short publication time and global distribution, enabling rapid dissemination of research findings. The first ACIS International Symposium on Software and Network Engineering took place on December 19-20, 2012, at Seoul National University, Korea. It aimed to unite scientists, engineers, computer users, and students to share experiences and exchange ideas about software and network engineering, addressing practical challenges and solutions in the field. From the accepted presentations, the symposium organizers selected the best 12 papers for publication in this volume. These selections were based on review scores from the program committee and underwent additional rigorous review rounds to ensure quality.

    • The series Studies in Computational Intelligence (SCI) publishes new developments and advances in the various areas of computational intelligence-quickly and with a high quality. The intent is to cover the theory, applications, and design methods of computational intelligence, as embedded in the fields of engineering, computer science, physics and life science, as well as the methodologies behind them. The series contains monographs, lecture notes and edited volumes in computational intelligence spanning the areas of neural networks, connectionist systems, genetic algorithms, evolutionary computation, artificial intelligence, cellular automata, self-organizing systems, soft computing, fuzzy systems and hybrid intelligent systems. Critical to both contributors and readers are the short publication time and world-wide distribution-this permits a rapid and broad dissemination of research results. The purpose of the 10 th International Conference on Software Engineering Research, Management and Applications(SERA 2012) held on May 3- June 1, 2012 in Shanghai, China was to bring together scientists, engineers, computer users, and students to share their experiences and exchange new ideas and research results about all aspects (theory, applications and tools) of Software Engineering Research, Management and Applications, and to discuss the practical challenges encountered along the way and the solutions adopted to solve them. The conference organizers selected 12 outstanding papers from those papers accepted for presentation at the conference in order to publish them in this volume. The paperswere chosen based on review scores submitted by members of the program committee, and further rigorous rounds of review.
