This volume offers an English translation of 15 selected essays from the seven-volume commentary on Plato's Republic, edited by Mario Vegetti. Other subjects include the status of utopia, philosophical knowledge, the Idea of the Good, and dialectics. It is important to note that this selection does not reflect a qualitative judgment of the essays; rather, the aim was to present critical assessments of key aspects of the dialogue, such as politics, ethics, epistemology, and ontology. Consequently, essays focusing on literary and psychological aspects, as well as the work's historical impact, were excluded.
