The narrative centers on a Polish nun who experienced visions of Jesus from the late 1920s until her death in 1938. During these encounters, she received profound teachings on God's mercy and was instructed to write down their conversations. With the help of her confessor, Fr. Sopocko, her notes were compiled into a diary that later garnered attention from Cardinal Karol Wojtyla, who would become Pope John Paul II. He canonized her as a saint and established Divine Mercy Sunday, highlighting the significance of her message and the commissioning of a Divine Mercy painting.
