This thesis introduces a method to design process chains for recycling and manufacturing activities in a community-based undertaking. It focuses on material cycles and local value creation. Individual ideas and concepts contributed in an open knowledge pool and vertically and horizontally integrated into a value creation network by identifying similarities among each other. Eight cases shall enable to identify specific contributions by analyses in upstream or downstream direction, or for entire process chains.
