The Path of The Righteous by Mordecai Paldiel recounts the inspiring stories of several hundred "Righteous Among the Nations"—heroic gentiles across Nazi-occupied Europe who risked their lives to save Jews fleeing the Nazi terror. Drawn from the Yad Vashem Memorial's archives, these narratives provide a much-needed counter to the pessimistic views of human nature that often arise in the aftermath of the Holocaust. They demonstrate that decency, morality, and altruism can endure even in the most horrific circumstances, showcasing that some individuals will act selflessly. This work also challenges the falsehoods propagated by those who deny the Holocaust or its eyewitness accounts. The courageous figures highlighted are monuments to the nobility of the human spirit, motivated not by reward but by a deep sense of right. Some were pious Christians driven by their faith, while others were fueled by profound compassion. The threat of punishment or social ostracism did not deter them; their love for humanity transcended all. The book features a foreword by Rabbi Harold Schulweis and an afterword by Abraham H. Foxman, both expressing gratitude to the countless righteous gentiles, many of whom remain unknown.
