Writer Peter Waterhouse, who was awarded the Grand Austrian State Prize in 2012, is described as “uncompromising, poetic and by nature inquisitive” (Süddeutsche Zeitung), and as a “child of heaven haunted by the art of precision” (Friederike Mayröcker).
