The DEAF covers the entire vocabulary (including regional variants from Anglo-Norman to Franco-Italian) of Old French texts from the earliest documents to the mid-14 th century, listing all meanings and situating the material etymologically and historically in terms both of the development of the vocabulary of French and the development of the Romance languages in general.
