En savoir plus sur le livre

In winter on Gotland, fourteen-year-old Fanny has gone missing. An isolated teenager, she had few friends aside from the horses at the local racing stable, and her life is marked by the absence of her Jamaican musician father and an unstable Swedish mother. Her disappearance raises questions about a possible connection to the recent murder of alcoholic photographer Henry Dahlström, who had won a large sum at the racetrack shortly before his death. Inspector Anders Knutas and his team face mounting pressure from the media as they investigate. Fanny is eventually found, strangled and hidden under moss and branches on a lonely heath. Meanwhile, disturbing photographs of her with a stranger are uncovered in Dahlström's darkroom. TV journalist Johan Berg, sent from Stockholm to report on the deaths, advances the investigation while navigating his complicated relationship with Emma, which has lingered since their previous encounter during a summer murder case. All signs point to one of Fanny's coworkers, an American who has left for a brief vacation. As Knutas awaits his return to make an arrest, he takes a weekend off with an old friend, where the pieces of the puzzle begin to align. However, Knutas has come too close to the truth...
