En savoir plus sur le livre

Searching for her missing identity, a woman embarks on one last ride with the motorcycle club that raised her, uncovering more than she expected. After losing her parents at four, Raqi moves in with her uncle Dodge in Escondido, California, where she faces hostility from his all-white, 1 percenter motorcycle club, the Lawless, and struggles under her uncle's drug addiction. Despite forming a few friendships, she eventually escapes the violence and bigotry of her upbringing. Years later, now a successful partner at a Los Angeles law firm, Raqi receives a call from Billy, the Lawless leader, informing her of Dodge's death and inviting her to participate in the Grieving Ride, honoring deceased members. She hesitates until Billy offers her the address of her grandfather, her father's father, igniting her desire to connect with her roots. Reluctantly, she agrees to join the ride. This journey will not only reunite her with her old bike and club members but also lead her to profound revelations about her uncle and herself. Alternating between Raqi's childhood and a 90s present, the narrative weaves in elements of magical realism, exploring her quest for a better future while grappling with a tumultuous past. The story delves into self-discovery, acceptance, and the essence of family.
