En savoir plus sur le livre

What would a fair and equal society actually look like? In a speculative fiction work reminiscent of William Morris and William Gibson, a world-renowned economist presents a radical vision set in 2035. At a funeral for Iris, a revolutionary leftist feminist, Yango is urged by Costa, Iris’s comrade, to explore her secret diaries, with the caveat to omit anything that could help Big Tech replicate his technologies. As Yango reads, he uncovers a chronicle revealing how Costa’s innovations have led to a fully democratized, postcapitalist society. This realization highlights Costa's fears of hackers attempting to steal his secrets. The narrative follows Costa, a disillusioned computer engineer, who creates a technology offering a glimpse of a life beyond dreams without enslavement. An accident reveals a cosmic wormhole, leading him to a parallel 2025, where a global uprising has transformed society, eliminating banks and allowing freedom in career exploration. Excited, Costa shares this discovery with Iris and Eva, a former banker turned professor. As they confront their own doubles and the political challenges of this alternate reality, the wormhole deteriorates, and hackers threaten Costa’s technology. The trio faces a critical choice: which 2025 do they want to inhabit? The work challenges us to consider how far we are willing to go to realize a democratic alternative to the emerging technofeudal dystopia.
