Die Publikation befasst sich mit Wechselwirkungen zwischen theoretischer Beschäftigung, Lehre und entwerferischer Praxis: Neben der Darstellung ausgewählter Semesterarbeiten werden Texte zu urbanen Phänomenen und Aspekten der Vorfabrikation sowie Projekte des Büros von Ballmoos Krucker vorgestellt. This book is based on some of the main issues of Bruno Krucker’s teaching as there is the search for an archi tecture of realism that takes its characteristics out of rational decisions and intuitive aspects. These interests are explored in different fields of teaching, research and practice.

The Upper Lawn Pavilion provides an excellent illustration of the architectural approach of the British architects Alison and Peter Smithson. This approach and the associated procedure is elaborated in a theoretical essay that forms the core of the publication by the architect Bruno Krucker. His means of analysis are historical documents and a newly revised plan documentation of the project. The current status of the complex is illustrated by photographs by the architectural photographer Georg Aerni.
